We believe in a team-based approach. With our PPPD clients especially, while we don't provide vestibular rehab directly, we collaborate with physiotherapists, family physicians, and other specialists. If medication is part of your care, we'll help you advocate with your doctor and stay steady through the process.
Hi, I'm Edna.
I'm a Registered Nurse Psychotherapist, and I started in hospital nursing long before I sat in a therapist's chair. That's a bit important: most clinicians weren't taught how the body holds anxiety, how burnout feels in the chest before it ever shows up in a spreadsheet. As a nurse, that's where I started.
I work with adults who are highly capable and quietly exhausted. Healthcare workers. Early-to-mid career professionals. Urban folks who look steady on paper and feel unglued inside. It's a specific kind of overwhelm, and it deserves specific care.
I have ADHD myself. I love plants unreasonably. I laugh in session. I care deeply about evidence. I built Balens to be the practice I wished I'd found when I needed one, rigorous, warm, and rooted.
